Felician University Opens Doors for Orthodox Jewish Students

Felician University’s APA-accredited Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) Program in Counseling Psychology is pleased to announce that it is expanding to provide access to doctoral-level training in psychology for members of the Orthodox Jewish community.

Beginning in September 2026, the program will support qualified BA-level students from the community who wish to pursue doctoral education in counseling psychology while maintaining their religious practices. Students admitted through this initiative will complete the same APA-accredited curriculum, clinical training, and academic requirements as all students in the Psy.D. program.

To accommodate religious practices, students participating in this initiative will be placed in single-gender cohorts, and additional accommodations will be provided to support the observance of religious holidays. These accommodations are designed to facilitate access to professional training while maintaining the academic standards and competencies required of all doctoral students in the program. This initiative reflects Felician University’s commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive training and to expanding pathways into the psychology profession for diverse communities.
