Jod description
Psychotherapist – Beacon, Monroe, NY
Beacon is a New York State licensed outpatient mental health clinic serving the Kiryas Joel and broader Chassidic community of Monroe, New York. We are currently seeking licensed psychotherapists to join our clinical team. This is an opportunity for clinicians who are serious about their professional development and eager to work within a supportive, growth-oriented clinical environment that offers something genuinely rare: a structured, long-term investment in who they are becoming as a therapist.
Supervision and Professional Development
In addition to direct clinical hours, clinicians are expected to participate in 2.5 to 3 hours per week of supervision and professional development.
Supervision is structured in two forms. Each clinician will be assigned an on-site clinical supervisor with whom they will meet individually on a regular basis. In addition, all clinical staff participate in a group-based professional development program led by David Kohn, LCSW, Director of Clinical Development at Beacon.
This program deserves particular attention. It is not a case conference, and it is not modality training. It is a fully original, comprehensive, multi-year framework – designed entirely by Mr. Kohn – that addresses the development of the psychotherapist as a professional and as a person. It is group-based, experiential, and available to both clinical and supervisory staff. It draws on integrative clinical frameworks, reflective practice, and a deep engagement with the universal dimensions of the therapeutic relationship that cut across models and approaches. For the clinician who is genuinely committed to becoming the best therapist they can become, this is a central feature of what Beacon offers – and one that is not available in any other clinic or agency setting.
Language Requirements
Given the population we serve, language capacity is a meaningful clinical consideration. Yiddish fluency is required for all male clinicians. For female clinicians, Yiddish fluency is a strong preference and a meaningful asset, though requirements may vary by role and caseload
